A Light and Lacy Scarf
Materials:
  • Yarn: 3 balls of Bernat® Cot’n Corn (60 g / 2.1 oz)  #19418 (Peach Tree).
  • Crochet hook: Size 5 mm (U.S. H or 8) or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge:

16 dc and 7 rows = 4" [10 cm].
Measurements:

Approx 6 1/2 x 56" [16.5 x 142 cm]

Pattern:

Ch 25.
1st row: (RS). 1 dc in 4th ch from hook (counts as 2 dc). *Miss next 2 ch. (3 dc.
Ch 1. 3 dc) in next ch. Miss next 2 ch. 1 dc in each of next 2 ch. Rep from *twice
more. Turn.
2nd row: Ch 3 (counts as dc). 1 dc in next dc. *(3 dc. Ch 1. 3 dc) in next ch-1 sp. 1 dc in each of next 2 dc. Rep from * twice more. Turn. Rep last row until work from beg measures 56" [142 cm]. Fasten off.

Belle Fleur Scarf

Materials

Instructions
MSL (Small Leaf)
  1. Row 1: With A, ch 8; slip st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, dc in next 2 ch, hdc in next ch, slip st in last ch; turn.
     
  2. Row 2: Ch 1, skip slip st, sc in next 5 sts, 3 sc in tip, 5 sc on opposite side of ch, slip st in last ch.

Flower

(Make 5 each B and E, and 4 each C and D)
  1. Round 1: Ch 10, 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each rem ch to last ch; 6 sc in last ch; working behind curl, join with a slip st to first of the 6 sc at end of Round 1 – 6 sc upon which remainder of flower will be worked. Free “curl” becomes the flower center.
     
  2. Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in same ch as joining and in each of the next 5 sc; join with a slip st in front loop of first sc -12 sc.

  • Yarn needle, 1 large button.
  • GAUGE: 15 sts = 4”; 16 rows = 4” in sc. CHECK YOURGAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
SCARF
Ch 26.
Row 1 (Wrong Side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across; turn – 25 sc.
Row 2 (Right Side): Ch 1, sc in first 3 sc, [ch 5, skip next 3 sc, sc in next 5 sc] twice, ch 5, skip next 3 sc, sc in last 3 sc; turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first 2 sc, [ch 3, sc in next ch-5 space, ch 3, skip next sc, sc in next 3 sc] twice, ch 3, sc in ch-5 space, ch 3, skip next sc, sc in last 2 sc; turn.

With right side facing, attach yarn on opposite side and repeat Rows 1 and 2 of edging. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Sew on button to desired location, using ch-space as buttonhole.

MEASUREMENTS
Hat: To fit average Woman’s head.

  • 2 balls of 39118 (Denim Marl) for each Hat or Scarf or 3 balls for Set.

  • Hat (Scarf-Set): 2 (2-3) balls
Size 6.5 mm (U.S. K or 10½) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.
GAUGE
11 sc and 13 rows = 4 ins [10 cm].

INSTRUCTIONS

HAT

Ch 2.
1st rnd: (RS). 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st to first sc.
2nd rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. 12 sc.
3rd rnd: Ch 1. *1 sc in next sc. 2 sc in next sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. 18 sc.
4th rnd: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of next 2 sc. 2 sc in next sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. 24 sc.
5th rnd: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of next 3 sc. 2 sc in next sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. 30 sc.
6th rnd: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of next 4 sc. 2 sc in next sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. 36 sc.

SCARF

Ch 27.
Foundation row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of ch. Turn. 26 sc.
1st row: Ch 3 (counts as dc). Miss first 2 sc. *(1 dc. Ch 1. 1 dc) in next sc. Miss next 2 sc. Rep from * to last 3 sc. (1 dc. Ch 1. 1 dc) in next sc. Miss next sc 1 in last sc. Turn.
2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 2 dc. *1 sc in next ch-1 sp. 1 sc in each of next 2 dc. Rep from * to end of row. Turn.
Rep last 2 rows until work from beg measures 48 ins [122 cm], ending with a 2nd row. Fasten off.

 Granny Square Scarf
Measurements:
8" x 50" [20.5 x 127 cm] without fringe.
Materials:
  • Lily® Sugar’n Cream Yarn:
    • (Solids 2.5 oz/70.9 g/Ombres 2 oz/56.7 g)
    • Main Color (MC) 2 balls
    • Contrast A 2 balls
    • Contrast B 2 balls
Size 5 mm (U.S. H or 8) crochet hook or size
needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge:
Motif = 31/2" [9 cm] square.
Steps:
Motif I (make 14)
With MC, ch 4. Join with sl st to form ring.

1st rnd: Ch 3 (counts as dc). 2 dc in ring. (Ch 1.
3 dc ) 3 times in ring. Ch 1. Sl st to top of ch-3.
Fasten off.

2nd rnd:
Join B with sl st to any ch-1 sp. Ch 3
(counts as dc). (2 dc. Ch 1. 3 dc) in same ch-1 sp
as last sl st. [(3 dc. Ch 1. 3 dc) in next ch-1 sp]
3 times. Sl st to top of ch-3. Fasten off.

3rd rnd: Join A with sl st to any ch-1 sp. Ch 3

Work as given for Motif I, substituting A for MC

Join motifs in 2 strips with 14 motifs per strip,
alternating colors as illustrated.
Finishing: With B, sl st to any corner of Scarf.
Ch 1. Work 1 sc in each dc around, working 3 sc
in corners. Sl st into first sc. Fasten off.
Fringe: Cut 14 ins [35.5 cm] lengths of yarn
and taking 2 strands of each color tog, knot
into fringe evenly spaced across top and
